The most unbelievable commercial ever made.

Jennifer "Jenny from the Block" Lopez in a sub-$22k Fiat 500 driving around the Bronx?

Yeah, that happens.

Not even when you 'show' the product at the end!

"We have ridiculed Hitler in a way that invites young people to create their own style and not to be influenced by their peers."

One thing Nazis were very adapt at besides wreaking havoc and destroying the lives of millions, was the effective use of graphic propaganda to facilitate their reign of terror. Everything within the Nazi framework was subject to a strict design regiment — banners, posters, uniforms, symbols.

They created an effective (and disturbingly pleasing) aesthetic that both defined and enhanced their terrifying plans.

Hitler, was, after all an artist. Or at least he fancied himself so.

Does a vision of a Pink Hitler demonstrate Cambia Style's intent?

Or does it miss the mark because the Nazis were so able with style?

Geico jumps the shark lizard.

I'm happy to say I can't blame The Martin Agency for this.  Apparently this was created by an internal creative team at Geico.

Warren Buffett as 'Axl Rose' singing about car insurance customer service? That makes as much sense to me as Ellen Page touting the amazing connectivity of Cisco's human network ... she is human, after all.

The inclusion of Buffett makes an otherwise acceptable spot (Customer service reps singing about their commitment to care with zeal) into a exercise in psychology: What were they thinking?

Luckily for Geico, the video has gone viral and the views keep coming.

Chevy makes a connection — then loses it.

I'd love to show you the latest Chevy Traverse ad, a charming spot featuring a father taking his daughter for a spin. It resonated with me at a time when so many car (and Chevy in particular) spots are noise or a complete turnoff.

This spot actually tells a story.  But you can't see it here because GM has disabled embedding of their YouTube properties.

I suppose I could link to it, but I'm very hesitant — why direct traffic to Chevy's YouTube channel when they won't reciprocate with content?

Disabled embedding is disabling sharing. The spot in question has a paltry 7,376 views after being on YouTube for a month. Compare that with the ridiculously inane viral video for Geico that has been on YouTube for a similar amount of time that has had over 370,000 views.

Granted, the Geico video is a bit more ... 'creative', but that's not necessarily a good thing.

What is GM afraid of? People seeing their spots in places other than GM-approved sites? More eyeballs matter. You would think a company suckling from the government bailout life support teet would understand that.

Frankly speaking ...

If this Kay's commercial ended with the deaf girl singing the Kay's tagline "Every kiss begins with Kay" in her deaf-girl voice, I would run right out to Kay Jewelers and buy something horribly expensive. Make that two horribly expensive things.

Crass? yes. Awesome? Definitely.

Learn this phrase: Video-in-Print.

The BBC reports: The first-ever video advertisement will be published in a traditional paper magazine in September. The video-in-print ads will appear in select copies of the US show business title Entertainment Weekly.

Imagine putting an MOA video directly into a sales aid. Or something, you know, more exciting.

Can you say 2011 In-Awe Award?

Lemonade, a documentary about people in our business who have lost their jobs during the latest recession. Advertising types tend to be whiny bitches, so I'm surprised this isn't 14 hours long.
