Geico jumps the shark lizard.

I'm happy to say I can't blame The Martin Agency for this.  Apparently this was created by an internal creative team at Geico.

Warren Buffett as 'Axl Rose' singing about car insurance customer service? That makes as much sense to me as Ellen Page touting the amazing connectivity of Cisco's human network ... she is human, after all.

The inclusion of Buffett makes an otherwise acceptable spot (Customer service reps singing about their commitment to care with zeal) into a exercise in psychology: What were they thinking?

Luckily for Geico, the video has gone viral and the views keep coming.

I agree with 慧君慧君 and believe that you must take Warren when he's available.

That said, this spot demonstrates a terrible flaw in our industry: producing work that only you believe is effective. It's the advertising equivalent to inviting your neighbors into your garage, tying them to lawn chairs, and subjecting them to your vacation slides.

Bleah.
