F-it. Let's just rip off Apple.

Shame on Universal Studios and their agency partners TM in Dallas for basically lifting the premise of this Apple Christmas spot  and using to promote the 'best vacation ever.'  Smartphone-obsessed teen? Check. Parents concerned about their child's disinterest? Check.  Twist ending where teen uses phone to create some sort of tribute/connection? Check.

There's a chance this spot was in production simultaneously with the Apple spot, but I doubt it.

If this Kay's commercial ended with the deaf girl singing the Kay's tagline "Every kiss begins with Kay" in her deaf-girl voice, I would run right out to Kay Jewelers and buy something horribly expensive. Make that two horribly expensive things.

Crass? yes. Awesome? Definitely.

He's got the eponymous epic out later this year starring Nicole Kidman and Huge Jackman, but here's his lovingly composed Australia tourism spot.



The ad is very cinematic, and is very 'quiet' for a tourism spot ... I like it. Do you?

I like these, even if flying sucks.

United returns with more quirky illustration and Gershwin. Nice creative, even for illustration, which I usually don't like.

Still fails the test most airlines do: Overpromise and underdeliver.

It's nice to know the purveyor of Mike's Hard Lemonade (Mike?) treats his mildly-retarded brother with such dignity. I get how the concept works with the tagline, but these really don't impress me much. Your thoughts?
